Quick Menus Increase productivity
Happier employees are more productive. In fact, according to a study done by the University of Warwick, more satisfied employees can improve productivity 10 – 12%. By implementing Quick Menus, you can increase your employees' happiness as they can complete their assigned tasked quicker resulting in the sense of accomplishment instead of frustration.
This article explains how to Manage Quick Menus in Fortix.
After logging in, find the QUICK MENU component on your home page. On the right-hand side of the heading bar Click on the three dot Menu.
Three options are displayed:
- The Locked option, showing a closed Lock indicates that the Menu items display order cannot be changed. If this option is clicked the Lock becomes an open lock which indicated that the menu icons order can be changed.
- Click the Manage option to Delete, Add or Edit the Menu items.
- Click Add New if you want to add a New Menu Item.
We will proceed with the Manage option.
The Quick Menu Setup page opens. Note the Dashboard. From this page, you are able to alter any of the available Dashboards or Quick Menus in Fortix. Click the Down Arrow to see available Dashboards.
Make sure the relevant Dashboard you want to Manage is selected.
The Title of the Quick Menu can be changed by typing a new name "Home Quick Menu". Click SAVE.
Note the Name in the Heading bar has changed to HOME QUICK MENU.
Click the Three dot Menu again and select Manage.
- Note Send Email is ticked. To hide this option from the Quick Menu, Untick the box.
- The Support box is Unticked. To Show the Support Option, Tick the box.
- The Add New Contact has two extra options - Edit (pencil) and Delete (-)
The changes have been applied by clicking SAVE. Now the Quick Menu on our Home Page does not show Send Email anymore, but Support is displayed.
Click the Three dot Menu again and select Manage. Click the Pencil to Edit Add New Contact.
The Quick Menu Entries form is accessed. To Edit the Name, type in the New Name. To change the colour of the Icon, Click on the Brush.
A colour chart opens where you can select a new colour for the icon of the Menu Item.
Click SAVE to apply the changes.
The Name of Add New Contact has changed to New Contact and the colour of the Icon is Red.
To Add a New Menu Item, Click Add New after you clicked the Three Dot Menu.
The ADD NEW QUICK MENU ENTRY form is open. Proceed to type the Name of the New Quick Menu Item you want to add.
If your role requires you to change the Menu in Fortix, as an example, you can reduce the number of clicks to open the MENU MANGEMENT page by adding a Quick Menu Item. Copy the URL from the address bar of the MENU MANGEMENT page into the URL of the Quick Menu Setting form.
Copy the URL from the address bar of the MENU MANGEMENT page or any other page you want to access quickly into the URL of the Quick Menu Setting form.
By ticking the Open in Tab box, you are able to nest your Quick Menu.
Click the brush to change the colour for your new Quick Menu Item. Click OK after you selected your choice.
Click Choose icon to select an Icon for your New Menu Item.
Click on your choice of Icon.
Now add a Name for the Tab and Click SAVE.
The newly added Quick Menu Item is on the System Tab.
The newly created Quick Menu Items also appear in your square Menu in the top right-hand corner!
