How to Enter a New Opportunity
This article explains how to enter a New Opportunity into Fortix.
The quick link in the address bar is: /?opportunities EG. https://base.fortix.systems/?opportunities
Click BUS DEV. The Opportunities page opens.
Locate the Add New option on the right-hand side of the Opportunities page. Click Add New.
The ADD NEW OPPORTUNITY form opens.
Enter a Uniques Name in the Opportunity Name field.
Select the Opportunity Type by clicking on the drop-down arrow and check the box of the appropriate Opportunity Type. The Adding Opportunity Types article explains how to add values to the drop-down list.
- Add a description in the Details fields so to easily understand what this opportunity is about.
- Enter the Probability of this opportunity realising into revenue for the business.
- Estimate the revenue value of what the transaction might be worth.
- Enter the Status of the opportunity. Only the Status selections that are no-closing is available as options.
Select the Rank of the Opportunity based on current situation and relationship.
Select the Owner of the opportunity. The default is the user entering the Opportunity. A sales team can be allocated to the Opportunity by adding Co-owners to the opportunity.
Enter Referral. It is not a compulsory field but should by a priority.
This would be a person that told you about the opportunity. Word of mouth, email enquiry, telephone call. Record where this opportunity originated from.
By Typing 2 or more letters, the automatic search of your current customer database opens. You can easily select a current customer who referred this opportunity to you.
If your referral is not in your contact list, it's easy to add a New Contact without leaving the current entry form. Click the highlighted + and ADD NEW CONTACT PERSON form opens in a new window for easy entry.
Enter the Source of this opportunity by choosing from the drop down list after clicking on the down arrow. Enter descriptions in the Source Note and Marketing fields.
Select the name from your current contact list if it is a current customer where this opportunity is. The Contact Details will be automatically filled in.
If it is a New Contact at a current Customer Click on the Add New Contact Icon on the right side of the field.
A Quick Add Contact form will open for you to enter the details. Click SAVE when all is entered correctly.
The Opportunity page will open where a summary of the opportunity will be displayed.
