How to use Filters
When working with large data sets, with many rows of data, it can be a challenge to find relevant information. Fortix makes it easy to narrow down the search with a simple yet powerful filter tool. The article explains how to filter data on the opportunity page in different ways, but can be applied to most data sets.
Open the Opportunities Page.
Click the down arrow next to the Opportunities Heading. This will open the available filters for Opportunities.
Four basic areas to the filter are:
- Keyword Search
- Opportunity Type.
- Opportunity relevance
When finished selecting your preferred filters click APPLY.
Every column in the display can be used as a filter. When a column is a drop-down field, that column can be used as a filter by ticking the checkboxes.

Extended search capabilities can be used in this filter. Example: (peter or john*) and not f?lk
This shows all rows containing 'peter' or 'john' or 'johnny' or even 'johannes', but not 'falk' or 'folk' (or similar).
Operators must be written in upper-case and separated by one space. Available operators are AND, OR, NOT, AND NOT and OR NOT.
Operations can be nested, and simple braces( )are used for this purpose.
Simple wildcards are supported.*stands for zero or more characters,?stands for exact one character.
[empty] or  can be use to filter empty values (empty string or NULL value).
The data columns can also be sorted in an ascending or descending order by clicking on the arrow next to the field name.
