How to change your password

Fortix enables users to be self-sufficient by enabling them to take control of their personal data like changing their password.

All changes are tracked by the changelog, so it is totally transparent. This frees up valuable time and prevents miscommunications.

There are three different ways to access the EDIT USER form to change a password.

  1. My Profile Access
  2. Matrix Menu Access
  3. Menu Navigation Access

1. My Profile Access

Click on the Profile photo or circle on the right-hand side. This can be accessed no matter what page you are on in the system. Click My Profile.

This opens the EDIT USER Form where users can update their own personal information relating to their role and employment.

2. Matrix Menu Access

The second option is to access the Matrix Menu icon on the right-hand side of the Fortix system for users to access their allowed system settings and appearance changes. Click on the User Setup icon.

The User Setup Quick Menu is displayed. Click the Edit User Details icon.

This opens the EDIT USER Form where users can update their own personal information relating to their role and employment.

The third option is to Click on OUR TEAM in the Main message Heading, then Click Users

A list of registered users is displayed. Select the user that needs to be updated, by clicking on their name. This will open the EDIT USER form. Alternatively, click on the down arrow on the right-hand side in the user row that needs to be edited. Click Edit User Details.

Do not click Edit Personal Details as this opens up a different form with totally different details.

This opens the EDIT USER Form where users can update their own personal information relating to their role and employment.

Scroll down to the System Login Details section. Enter the Password and Repeat Password. Adding a Password Change Reason is compulsory.

Add your own Password and click the eye icon to reveal the hidden password.

To get a System Generated Password, click the Lock Icon.

This opens the GENERATE PASSWORD function. Click GENERATE to have Fortix system generate the password. Click the Copy icon to copy the password to the clipboard.

Advanced Options for System Generated Password is available with clicking the Down arrow.

Click USE PASSWORD to use the System Generated Password as the new password.

The System Generated Password is the new password. It is compulsory to have a Password Change Reason description filled in.

Click SAVE to update the system
